Virginia Key Habitat Restoration

On Saturday, January 4th, KMLOEC teamed up with Miami Waterkeeper and the Miami Dade Parks Department to plant native plants and restore a shoreline habitat at Virginia Key’s North Point Trails.

With the help of over 15 KMLOEC members and local volunteers, we were able to plant almost 30 new native plants, increasing bio diversity, resilience, and resistance to erosion.
